Got Framed?

LOL = Laugh out loud, GTG = Got to go, TTUL = Talk to you later, WGFF = Weigand's got foundation and frame! Although you have probably gotten a text message with shorthand sayings like LOL, GTG, or TTUL mentioned in them, WGFF now needs to be added to your shorthand slang dictionary. Yes, it is true, and we are truly astonished ourselves, but we officially have a framed house.

In our last post, I mentioned how the builders were supposed to have foundation put down by the end of the week. Well, needless to say, that was a Sunday that we went out there and took pictures. We decided we would travel out there again on Monday, since I was still in town, to just see perhaps they had poured the foundation yet. Sure enough, they poured the foundation Monday morning! It was a weird transition to see one day with no foundation, and the very next day with foundation poured. Below are some more pictures of that transition.

An even weirder transition came to our realization yesterday when we went out to see what they have done... the framing was complete! We both were and still are in awe of how quickly they can frame a house. Unlike most home builders, History Maker Homes builds sections of the framing in a controlled facility outside of the home site. Using laser guided machinery to cut the wood and build each section gives your framing a more perfect measurement. They then deliver each section to the home site to be put together. That is why they are able to facilitate such a fast framing build. Below you will see the results of which our shock and awe came from... our home beginning to take shape.

Love having a covered patio
 Master bedroom
 Post tension cables (10,000 psi)
 Kitchen and Dining area
 Dining area
Looking from back of house to front
Custom archways (were not in original plans)

Last but certainly not least, we have another video for you to enjoy. It's a quick walk-through of the house starting from the outside. At this rate, we will be updating more often. GOD BLESS!

Moving along

Being told that our foundation would be poured this week, Libby and I were extremely excited to make our journey to Saginaw this weekend to see the progress. Well, they haven't exactly gotten the concrete poured yet, but they did get the rest of the prep work done for it. In the picture below you will see that they have layed out all the rebar and have finalized all the foundation framwork. We decided to also include a video this week just for fun to show more detail. ENJOY!

So it begins

The excitement meter has just been triggered to an all time high! Last weekend, Libby and I decided to go take a walk out in our beautiful neighborhood park where we will be living. Of course, we opted into looking at our lot to see if they have done any inprovements yet. To our surprise, they had already built the mold for our foundation giving us a good picture at how our house will look placed on our lot.

Needless to say, we are both very excited and having something tangable to look at has brought our excitement level beyond control! It is amazing how fast things get accomplished though once they start building. Today we went out to Saginaw again and they already have most of the plumbing done.

I will be meeting with the builder tomorrow morning to discuss further plans. We were told last week that they should have the foundation down by the end of this week. Framing will be coming not too long after that. Libby and I are truly blessed and thank God for giving us this opportunity to have a home AND see it built.
